I've been thinking about Dive a lot lately; not really sure why. Though part of it, I'm sure, is because I go and read the logs and journal posts to see what's been going on since last year.

And, long story short...

Where and when did you start rping?
I think it was around 2001 or 2002, I did some roleplaying at a Redwall board.

Do you prefer first-person comment spam or prose logging?
Prose. I can do first-person comment spam in places like SWS or communities that have journaling as part of the game, but I like prose better.

What was the first character you ever played?
Wilhemina Germanis, the only furry persona I've ever had, from the Redwall board.

Who's your favorite character to play now and why?
Probably Dani Phantom, although I do love playing Luna over at Corinth.

What's the longest you've ever consistently played one character?
Dani Phantom, since March of 2007 and still going strong.

What's your biggest rp pet peeve?
This is the only way I can phrase this: Just because I don't use AIM does not mean that I am entirely unreachable.
Also not getting responses to posts or comments. It's one thing to drop a thread after tagging for a bit. But I'm posting because I want to play, so not getting any responses at all really bugs me.
And finally, forgetting not only the password to a pup journal that you want to use again but the password for the e-mail account the lost password e-mail gets sent to. *headdesks*

Do you read rp secrets and the rp anon meme?
Not regularly, and I hate RP anon/love memes because the few times I've done them most of the time I didn't get one comment, good or bad. It's like...why even bother?

If you've played in public before, do you prefer community based or journal based games?
Community based. Having to friend every new pup that joins just gets tedious and annoying, especially when you have several pups of your own that you have to update friends lists for. It was just easier for me to read the friends list of the log comm to get updates of all the characters' journals.

Would you rather play with someone who's very very ic but a mediocre writer or someone who isn't always ic (but not terrible) and a great writer?
As long as any spelling and grammar!fail weren't too severe, I'd prefer playing with someone who kept their characters IC.

Do you have a "rp partner"?
Quite a few, many of them among the Element EU RP Muns. There's also my partner-in-crime from Milliways shinyhappygoth.

Do you ever stalk any casts, games, or players? who?
Not really. If I'm not in an RP or I leave it, it goes off the watchlist. I still have some muns from Aphar friended, even though it's been ages since that game's been active.

In your opinion, which part of an app is the most difficult/annoying?
Personality and Character History, especially when apping a second/third tier/one-shot character and the application requirements are "at least" 300 words or something like that. There's only so much I can pull out of my ass if canon doesn't give it to me!

Are you one of those people who has to customize their character's journal layout and userinfo?
Moreso the journal layout than the userinfo, but mainly because I can't stand the default layout LJ uses every time I create a new pup journal.

What was your first game?
If we're going by LJ rps, my first serious one was jumpcitynexus.

Are there any canons you avoid tagging characters from?
Usually canons that I'm not familiar with, which is a pretty large category.

Most memorable scene in any thread?
Ooh, tough question there. Well, the one that immediately pops into my head is Kole telling Slade off for assuming that she'd end her friendship with Jericho after learning that Jericho was Slade's son.

Or Dani pulling off the Ghostly Wail after she and Enzo follow Danny into the Ghost Zone during the Phantom Planet plot.

Female, although there is a handful of males in my RP roster.

Sex, of any sort.

Well, I haven't done a lot of talking with someone who plays the same character that I do so it's not really either.

Am currently sans my iPod. The iPod is at this moment at the Apple store/center in California being repaired since it came down with a case of "White Screen of Minor Injury"* on Sunday. It wouldn't be that bad if it weren't for the fact that iTunes likes to slow my computer down a whole bunch and my computer speakers are behaving like two pieces of utter crap (although the Brother could be right and it's actually the sound card).

I've narrowed down my next pup for Dive to two possibilities - Meng (coming in via Apharsites, which probably means major self-threading in the future) and Lucy Cartwright/Sister of Mine from the Human Nature/Family of Blood episodes of Doctor Who. Playing Lucy/Sister could prove interesting, especially since I would bring her in post-Family of Blood where her imprisonment has softened her considerably, and make her an ally of the Tamers rather than an enemy like Jeremy/Brother of Mine.

Have recently discovered the Granada Sherlock Holmes series, and by extension Jeremy Brett. Needless to say the pocketbook is a tad lighter for having purchased three of the four DVD volumes of the series. Not that I'm complaining... *innocent whistle*

I'm listening to Christmas music, so it must be the middle of summer.

*"White Screen of Minor Injury" is described as a malady wherein the screen of the iPod inexplicably goes stark white. Everything is still on the hard drive (or at least it was until the Brother restorted it) - it just can't be accessed through the fog of the white screen.

Well, made my quarter-yearly* trek up to Tomorrow is Yesterday earlier today. Runaways #30 has been acquired, as has #1 of the Runaways/YA Secret Invasion tie-in. Also snagged some back issues of Robotech: Invasion and (finally!) the fifth issue in the Prelude to the Shadow Chronicles series.

New Runaways canon means more plotting for Milliways, but that will have to wait until...probably Friday, depending on if the brother and I are busy entertaining another munchkin.




*which might have to change to more frequent trips if Runaways gets back on a regular, once-a-month release schedule. If not, I may just have to rely on the kindness of strangers torrents and scans_daily to get my Runaways fix.

So, in a nutshell, consider this my official announcement of being back on the 'Net.

Drove up to TiY today; Runaways #29 has been acquired, along with random other goodies. After having to wait four months for it the issue was...kind of a let-down. For all of the hype it was getting nothing really...happened.

Hopefully issue #30 will be the payoff, as well as be on-time. I don't want to wait another four months before I finally decide whether or not to app a certain character to Milliways (though the newest previews of the Ramos art has me hopeful).

And props to whoever was running the store's entertainment system today. I walked in on the last fifteen or-so minutes of The Last Unicorn, which was followed by Jim Henson's The Dark Crystal. Good times, good times.
