Extreme Makeover: Home Edition
2003 - 2012

Thanks for all the tearjerkers, awesome, funny and heartwarming moments, guys. The occasional special just isn't going to be the same.

*sniggering* Pants-hats. I wonder if they let the kids keep those, or if they had to return them to the Land's End people before they returned to the school?

Was it just me, or did Paulie and the contractor for this week look enough like each other to pass for brothers? I mean, the first thing I noticed was that the contractor's haircut looked like what Paulie's would look like if he let it grow out a little more.

Also, I have determined that Paulie is not going through a second childhood; he never left his first. Why else would he be sitting at a desk outside of Ty's secret room, shooting spitwads at him?

The good news: Ed's back! He's back! The hand is still healing, but he's back! We missed you Ed!

The bad/wtf? news: Ed, why are you hosting that new Bingo gameshow in May? You're not a gameshow host! Were you that bored during your recovery, that you agreed to that particular gig?

Seriously, Ed. If you want to try your hand (excuse the bad pun) at something other than Extreme Home that's all well and good. But look for a different vehicle, mmkay? That bingo show looks like its going to go the way of William Shatner's "Show Me the Money".

All right, who all watched Extreme Home tonight? C'mon, I wanna see a show of hands...

This one hit kind of close to home for me, because the adults of the Hawkins family used to live in the area; the dad was from Byron and was actually a fireman here, and his wife was from Rockford.

This mom, Amy...if I ever have children someday I hope that I am at least half the mother that she is.

Ty is never going to leave the design team alone after this.

Excellent, excellent Extreme Home tonight. My favorite part of the episode? Tracy was there! She's back! I hope it wasn't just for this episode, and that we get to see her in upcoming new episodes next year. Poor Ed, though. You can tell he was getting more than a little teed off at all the phone calls Ty was getting from the other designers, asking for favors and whatnot.

And if it wasn't by now, it was totally obvious in this episode that Paul loves kids. I'm sure he's going to make a great father someday (if he isn't one already).

What with the season finale of Avatar last weekend, and the season 2 finale of Code Lyoko two days ago, the muses have been busy again with stuff that I just "have" to write. If anyone else is interested in any of these ideas, let me know.
Cut for spoilers...just in case )

My Best Friend's Wedding )

And now all I have to worry about is getting the next chapter of Rose Diaries out. And hopefully the first chapter of the Shanghai team's story out. And maybe get to work on Nina's profile some more. Before the deadline.

Hoo-boy, where to start, where to start?

Okay, first of all...Ed. Ed, Ed, Ed. That's three members of the design team who have paid a visit to the hospital now. First there was Paul with his kidney stone, then Ty and his appendix and now Ed's blistered feet. Hopefully we have all learned by now that applying aftershave to a broken blister is not a good idea.

And speaking of Paul, once again he was there when Ty and the rest of the design team needed him once Ed's foot ailment forced him off of his feet. At the end of the first hour I was wondering who Ty got to come in and sub; my family figured it was another celebrity because of the cheering from the crowd at the shots where the truck pulled up. Then when he was on the phone and said "I know you thought you were gonna have the week off" I figured it was another member of the design crew. And I was so pleased that it was Paul, because he's just got this big heart. I'm gonna come right out and admit it, Paulie's my favorite member of the design team. Michael used to hold the number one spot, but now he's been bumped down to number two. I don't see why he was so surprised that the crowd cheered when he showed up (although I do understand why he was surprised by being hugged by a random stranger ;)).

Cassandra's hospital project turned out great. I loved the theme they came up with, and I loved that the Disney animators came in from California to help. Hopefully we'll get to see more of the action at the hospital on tomorrow's How'd They Do That?.

I loved Preston and his book. That was just the coolest thing; ranks right up there with Preston lifting Lance up to touch the wind chimes.

Other observations: *insert witty commentary here* )

And finally, just a reminder...do NOT apply aftershave to a broken blister.
