Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Season Finale
...
...wow.
What an emotional rollercoaster that was. This episode had me in tears more than once, especially during the last half hour when the family was touring the house.
-The man singing the national anthem in Navajo...chills down my spine, seriously. Chills.
-For the first time ever, they had almost the entire design team working on this. The only person missing was Tracy, probably because she's on maternity leave. But having Connie, Paige, Paul, Preston, Michael, Eduardo and Ed all there...wow. Very cool. I hope they do that again.
-Ty playing with the two kids in the ball pit. Classic Ty. I'm surprised he didn't end up killing himself.
-And speaking of the kids, that little Carla was so cute!
-Why was it, out of all the emotional moments on the show tonight, what made me cry the most was a commercial for Chase credit company?
My Best Friend's Wedding
Well, The Big Day aka the day my best friend Kelly got married, was yesterday. God, it was so beautiful. The weather was absolutely perfect. The ceremony (except for one snafu with the music) was beautiful. There was a lot of crying but no one tripped, threw up or passed out (most importantly, I didn't trip, throw up or pass out!). Kelly looked absolutely amazing, and she was so calm the whole time! The only time she came close to breaking down was in our dressing room before we left, because her father couldn't be there that day (he was killed in a plane crash thirteen years ago).
And now it's over. My best friend is married, and she and her husband are off on their honeymoon. But I feel good about it. I don't have any doubts about us growing apart anymore. I am so honored that she chose me to stand up with her on her special day.
And now all I have to worry about is getting the next chapter of Rose Diaries out. And hopefully the first chapter of the Shanghai team's story out. And maybe get to work on Nina's profile some more. Before the deadline.
