Jim Henson. The world lost a creative genius, and the Muppet family lost a friend, mentor and father.

Also, Roddy McDowall. He was one of those people you thought was just always going to be around forever (and looked like he could pull it off). The only thing that makes it easier is that he didn't have to suffer long with his cancer.

Of all the places to hear about Heath Ledger today, work was the last place I would have thought of. But then I opened up IE to get to the "Every Library in Illinois" website, saw the headline on the Yahoo front page and almost went "What?!?" out loud right there at the circ desk.
