Today is the birthday of Muppeteer Richard Hunt, performer of Scooter, Beaker, Janice and Sweetums among various other beloved Muppet characters. Were he alive, he would be 54 years old.

I had hoped to update my Scooter website with my list of all of Scooter's appearances in Season 1 of the Muppet Show, but time and other factors have conspired against me. Maybe I can get that finished sometime this week; I dunno.

But anyway, here's to you Richard. If they celebrate birthdays in Heaven, I hope you have a good one.

Today is the birthday of Richard Hunt, my favorite Muppeteer. He performed Scooter, Janice, Sweetums and Statler in the Muppet Show, and Junior Gorg in Fraggle Rock along with a plethora of characters from those two shows and Sesame Street. He was also a totally awesome singer and a great all-around performer.

Sadly Richard left us in January of 1991. But if he had lived, he would be 52 years old. *thinks* That means he'd be as old as my dad. Whoa, that's kind of freaky...

I forgot to mention that my love for the Muppets has finally spilled over onto the Internet, and I have a second website.

15 Seconds to Curtain! is a site dedicated to my favorite Muppet of them all, Scooter. Scooter was performed by the late, incredibly talented Richard Hunt. I created the site because I thought it was past time Scooter got his due, especially since the character has been more or less retired after Richard's death in 1991. Hopefully with his reappearance in the Muppet Christmas movie this past year, Scooter will become more of a permanent fixture in the Muppet world again.

So feel free to visit. And, I dunno, jot a note down in the guestbook too. There, that's a good enough plug ;)
