Obligatory post-Christmas...post...thing
Dec. 27th, 2005 12:14 amSo...Christmas. Had Christmas Eve with my mom's side of the family Saturday and Christmas with my dad's side of the family at my Aunt Kay's house yesterday (didn't get as slimed as much by their Newfoundlands that much this year, thank God). Christmas Eve without Grandma was...easier to get through than I anticipated. Maybe it's because last year at this time she was in the nursing home recovering from surgery, so I was used to her not being there. Who knows?
( If you're interested in my Xmas take, click the cut )
Today was everyone's day off, so not much got done around our house today except maybe laundry. And the dishes. And half of my brother's and my bathroom got cleaned (I know, because I cleaned my half). We went and saw a movie this evening: The Family Stone. It was a pretty good movie, although a bit more serious in places than I was expecting. And was it me, or did the actor who played Thad (the deaf brother) bear some resemblance to John Tartaglia from Avenue Q?
Well, tomorrow it's back to the old grind. It's the end of the year which means inventory time, which means a ton of shelfreading and courting the risk of going permanently cross-eyed. Hopefully the kids will be better behaved than they were last week (I almost killed that one kid for giving me a heart attack; next time they attempt to climb on the furniture, their butts are out the door). I think I'm working with Monica again.
P.S. - I am so addicted to
