And so Doctor Carter, after having spent 11 years at County General, flies off into the wild blue yonder to join his beloved Kem *cough*takethatCarbyfans*cough*. We wish you the best, Carter. And on that note, some random observations on tonight's ER season finale, hopefully as spoiler-free as possible.

-Was cool when Carter heard the voices of Doug, Peter, Carol and Mark standing in the hallway in front of the trauma rooms (although I didn't get to hear all of what was said; damn Mom being on the phone!). Especially Mark's last words to Carter: "You set the tone."

-Speaking of Mark's last words to Carter...anybody but Morris, John. You could have passed that advice on to anybody but Morris!

-Alex is so going to be dead when Sam and Luka get ahold of him.

-They paid Danny Glover for that? The way they hyped it, you'd have thought he was going to play a major role in the episode; that scene of his was 5-7 minutes tops! *spoiler snip* )

-I wonder if Carter's chatterbox volleyball patient today that he delivered 11 years ago was the same baby he delivered in this episode (although said baby was delivered in the ER parking lot, and not in the ER proper)? If so, kudos to the Continuity Police!
