...and have I got a LOT to talk about. Hoo-boy, where to start, where to start?

Well first off, I am once again living in a double-single. And for the second time in a row it was my roommate's decision to move out. Originally she was going to move out at the end of the semester and into a free room with this other girl who was having bad problems with her current (at the time) roommate. Then the weekend before Fall Break, Tabitha up and announces that she's moving out that weekend, to room with one of her sorority sisters over in another dorm (the one next to all the construction for the school's new athletic center; hey, if she wants to be disturbed by all that racket that's fine by me). So now I've got the room all to myself, and hopefully it will stay that way through next semester.

Fall Break was also when we put our other dog, Ginger, to sleep. Her quality of life had deteriorated to the point where we didn't want to put her through another winter. She slipped and fell on linoleum; she'd never have made it outside in snow. I miss her so much; her and Pepper both. It's so weird not having dogs around the house.

And now I guess I can officially say it: I am involved in an on-line relationship. The guy's name is Matt, and so far he's one of the nicest guys I've ever met. We met at the message board for Muppet Central, which is one of THE biggest websites for the Muppets, period. We started IMing each other off and on, and pretty soon we began using our conversations to formulate outlines for new Muppet Show episodes. At the time he was hoping to get involved with another girl, but a lot of things happened so that it didn't work out. I was (or tried to be) very understanding through it, and the next thing I knew Matt apparently had a crush on me.

Now, I admit I like the guy about as much as I like my other on-line friends, possibly a little more. I've already emailed him my phone number so we can talk on the phone, and he wants to meet me sometime at the beginning of next year after I go back to school. And I'm worried. I'm worried that things won't work out between us and we'll lose the friendship. I'm worried that he'll turn out to be someone totally different than he is online. And I'm worried that it'll work out. *sighs*

And wouldn't you know, all of this before the holidays?

Happy Holidays, and a happy New Year!
