So,
innerbrat wanted to know about these seven icons:

I'm a big Roddy McDowall fangirl. Huge fan. This is a picture of Roddy in one of my favorite roles of his, that of Bon Chance Louie from Tales of the Gold Monkey. Roddy ended up taking over the role from Ron Moody, who had originated it in the pilot episode. Now Louie was the magistrate for the island of Boragora in the French Marivellas, and a bit of a loveable rogue to boot. He'd always mention little tidbits of his past, such as climbing Mt. Everest, but would never elaborate. Supposedly Louie was supposed to have been executed but the guillotine malfunctioned, leaving him with a scar on the back of his neck that he always kept hidden with a neckerchief. Those who worked with him during the series' season-long run have said that Roddy added a touch of class. The best exhibit of Roddy as Louie, IMHO, is the episode "Last Chance Louie". If ever Roddy got the chance to show off his acting chops on the TV screen, it was there.
I made this icon while I was big into the "Queer Eye" fandom. I'm fairly sure it's from the episode where the "Fab 5" made over figure skater John Zimmerman.
Whilevandalizing going through John's apartment, Thom Filicia found a couple flower-shaped, plug-in air fresheners that, when held correctly, resembled guns. He immediately started doing the whole "Charlie's Angels" pose thing. The text on the icon started running through my head during the scene and refused to leave my brain, so as soon I got caps, this icon got made. The fuzziness/transparency of the text can be attributed to my early days of icon-making with HP Impression, as I hadn't yet learned to finagle with the fonts or the images to make things come out nice.
Yes, one of those darn "My fandom..." icons, made from a picture I scanned out of Jim Henson: The Works and featuring my favorite Muppet performer, Richard Hunt. For the life of me I can't remember what the style of puppetry Richard is using in the picture, but the picture definitely catches one of Richard's essences - in this case, his sillier side.
Also, I felt that the Muppets deserved a "My fandom..." icon.
This icon is actually how I "met"
senashenta on LJ and wound up friending her. She made it for me as a Valentine's present back during my early days of LJ-ing, after I pimped a story of hers in a fanfic comm.
One of Sena's (now defunct, I'm assuming) fanfic projects was a crossover between LoTR and Digimon - Adventure and Tamers. The scene depicted in the icon is from the...second book wherein Middle Earth gets smushed with Odaiba and West Shinjuku. Saruman develops an...unhealthy focus on Ichijouji Ken and his Dark Seed and decides to take it. The icon is basically a cut-down version of the scene.
I love Leland Orser about as much as I do Roddy McDowell, and Dr. Lucien Dubenko is one of my favorite ER characters. The image is from an episode early in season 12, from a scene where Dubenko is telling Abby Lockhart (the object of his unrequited affections until he ends up falling for Neela) about his upcoming battle with prostate cancer. The conversation took place outside in the rain, and the person who did the caps got one of Dubenko with his eyes closed. It and the image of a rain-soaked Dubenko made the scene much sadder than it really was. Some text borrowed from Shakespeare and a transparent border, and I had myself a "sad times" icon.
While the new series of Doctor Who may have its fangirls, I much prefer the old school series. It had much better quottage, for one thing. This happens to be one of my favorite quotes of the Seventh Doctor's, first heard as a soundclip at a Doctor Who audio site. I absolutely love Sylvester McCoy's deadpan delivery.
It's also an icon that fits all the cliche-ridden, cookie cutter fanfiction that's out there in any given fandom. You know, the ones where you can substitute the names of characters with names of characters from a different fandom, and still come out with exactly the same story?
Yes, I'll admit it, I'm in love with the Disney Channel Original Movies T*Witches and T*Witches Too. The scene in the icon is from the first movie, and the text is one of the catchphrases from the original book series: "Twins. Witches. Exactly."
Personally, I think the films have drawn some unwarrented flak. Mainly it's for having so many differences from the books; i.e., Cam and Alex are "supposed to be" white, not African-American, the twins are "supposed to be" sixteen not twenty-one, Karsh is "supposed to be" an old guy, etc. Which I don't get. I mean, just what is badmouthing the movie supposed to do? It can't erase the film from existance. IMO, Tia and Tamera Mowry were better choices to play the Twitches than, say, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. But I'm going to get off of my soapbox now before I go off on a rant tangent.
So, now that I've explained my seven icons, its your turn. Leave a comment and I'll pick seven of your icons, which you will then have to explain. Ready? Go.
