Writer's Block: 9/11

Unlike most people who are going to be answering this my memories of that day are a bit fuzzy; I don't have the clarity of memory for tragedies and disasters that most people seem to have.

All I really remember was putzing around my dorm room that morning because my first class wasn't scheduled until the afternoon, and getting a phone call from my mom wanting to know if I had the television on. When I said "no" she told me that a plane had crashed into one of the World Trade Center towers. I turned on the television, either just before or just after the second plane hit the second tower.

I was in my first screenwriting/scriptwriting class of the year, when the head of the department came in and told us classes were canceled for the day and to go home. Our teacher told us what was happening. This was in Boston. I walked back to my dorm crying the whole way because my mother lives in Colorado, near Norad, and I was worried the planes would go hit them. My mother was panicked because she couldn't get through to me and got mad because I couldn't get through to her. It was weird.
