Well, they say bad luck comes in threes...

Had a fairly huge windstorm earlier today that wound up splitting a maple tree in our front yard practically in half. Nothing was damaged except the tree, thank goodness; if it had been any bigger or any closer to the house, it probably would have ended up taking off the porch and/or my car.

It's been only five days since Toto died. Is it wrong that I want another cat so soon, even though we still have Sassy? Don't get me wrong, I love her to death too. But she's been strictly an upstairs cat ever since we got the dog, and it's so...empty downstairs without a cat lounging around.

No, I think it's perfectly understandable. Some friends of mine got a new rabbit within a couple days of losing one of their old ones, and it doesn't mean they loved him any less. (Granted, part of the rush was for the sake of the remaining rabbit, who needed a companion.)
