meme drabble - five ways ichijouji ken met tomoe hotaru

Dang, this took longer than I thought. I still think I might have gotten too wordy on a couple of them.

And I swear, I need an icon for this pairing. Srsly leik woah.

Five Ways Ichijouji Ken Met Tomoe Hotaru
For [livejournal.com profile] te_non_sum

1. At Mugen Gakuen, which now boasted child genius Ken Ichijouji as its newest student.

He'd been on his way to his first class when they had nearly collided in the hallway. Words were exchanged ("Watch where you're going, clumsy!" followed by a quiet "I'm sorry") and she had hurried on her way, but something made Ken pause.

Another nearby student introduced her as Tomoe Hotaru, daughter of the school's founder and "the freak".

Watching her, Ken came to the conclusion that she was much stronger than that.

2. In the Digital World, where a life was saved.

He'd thought it was fitting, that one of his former slaves should land the final blow. But it never came; instead the Digimon vanished in a swirl of blue flame, bits of data borne away to the Village of Beginnings.

Standing in the spot where the Fugamon once stood was a slight young girl with dark hair and violet eyes, who laid a sympathetic hand on the snout of the Youkomon beside her.

A thousand questions leapt to Ken's mind, but in the end he went with, "Who are you?"

"My name is Hotaru."

3. In Shinjuku, where inevitably a youma battle and a fight between a Digimon spilled over.

Afterwards Minako-san and Mako-san had kidded Hotaru about a boy she had been staring at for most of the time. Although she vehemently denied it, the blush on her cheeks revealed the beginnings of her first crush (in this life, anyway).

Michiru almost had to tie Haruka down to keep her from going to Tamachi to find this young man for a "talk".

4. At the masquerade ball, where up until now Hotaru had been a shy little wallfower.

He'd appeared out of nowhere, a young teenager with indigo hair and a domino mask like everyone else at the party was wearing. Without hesitation he had asked Hotaru to dance and she had accepted, reflexively extending her hand so he could lead her to the dance floor.

She couldn't shake the sense of deja vu that nagged at the back of her mind as they danced, the little voice that sang that they had done this before, the two of them long long ago.

And then it was over, her mystery date kissing her on the back of the hand before he slipped into the crowd heading out the door.

5. During the Silver Millenium, where destiny was set into motion.

"Do you suppose we'll always be together?"

"Of course. Where one of us is, the other won't be far behind."

..... wheeeeeeeeeee.

I think my favorite may be #3, if only for Haruka wanting to go have a "talk". ;)

Okay, loved Haruka wanting to "talk" to Ken. This was really sweet.

In the meantime, I need to get back to the ones for Shaun and Kyle. Completely forgot with the stress of school. I put yours up already as a reply--did you get it?

Wow, this is brilliant. XD

I can't remember how I found this, but I'm glad that I'm not the only one who thinks that Ken and Hotaru are complete dopplegangers. (and if you think about it, the parallels between Sailormoon and Digimon also run rampant to boot.)

I, I think you should write more if you ever feel the inclination to. For the time being, I'm just going to marvel at the fact that you actually attempted to crossover these two worlds and make it work.

One tiny nitpick: I don't know if you're going by the original version, but Ken is very very polite and superficially amiable even while he is still the Kaiser, making his "clumsy" comment a little off, IMHO.

Other than that, like I said, I really loved this. :D
