Well, this is going to muck up the Sailor Moon fandom a bit. Not only do we have two new legitimate planets for Senshi Sues to spring from, but they've mucked up the Asteroid Senshi.

Okay, speaking as a fan senshi person who puts entirely too much thought into creating characters that avoid all the tired traps, I'd just like to say one thing:

Please wait till they name the tenth (eleventh?) planet. Sailor Xena just sounds so out of place with the other planets in the system, and having every single one, without fail, sling around that ring-boomerang thingie is tired. Just wait, please.

True. But that won't stop the increase in Sailor Charons that will probably emerge. And there will probably be a bunch of Sailor Ceres-es popping up with authors who have no idea that she already exists (although granted, the Quartet never got to be Senshi in the anime).

I don't know. At least with Sailor Ceres, it would be interesting to pull her into the main senshi group. And I guess a good writer could pull off Sailor Xena (that's going to make me giggle a lot) and Sailor Charon--who would have to somehow pull a "close to Pluto" act, maybe as a cat that becomes a senshi, ala Luna in the movie (and I think in the live action too)?

True. But it screws up the manga dynamics a bit, because you can't exactly call them the Asteroid Senshi now.

In the live action, yes. In the movie Luna only became human because Usagi/Sailor Moon wished it, and then she never became a Senshi. Plus in the movie and in the manga when Luna and Artemis became human, they were adults. Human!Luna in the live action was a kid.

This is the Best Event Ever. Not that the Sailor Moon fandom'll get mucked up, but the fact that we've gotten new planets! I love Astronomy, it's so wacky. ^_^
