Well, we had a bit of drama Tuesday afternoon with a bunch of the kids that hang out at the library (a stolen bookbag) and one girl's mom ended up calling the cops over it. Later that evening the girl alleged to have stolen the bag called and said that she'd been told to leave the library, and she wanted to know how long she had to stay away for. I didn't talk to her, the lady I was working with did. But she figured on three months, which is the usual time we give. I wrote that up in our little incident logbook, and I told another lady I worked with last night about it to bring her up to date.
This afternoon the library director called me to find out what was up with this, since there was no reason to ban this girl, and because no member of the staff had told her that she was banned. I told her what I knew, what was basically what my coworker Tuesday had told me after she talked to the girl in question on the phone. My boss just said she wanted to make sure she had all the information in case this girl's mother called wanting to know what was going on.
But I've still got this nervous feeling in my gut, like I know this is going to come back to bite me in the ass.
If that's the usual action and you weren't the one who made the decision, I'm sure you'll be fine. *hugs* The director probably just called you in because you're the one who logged the action. ^_^
Yeah, I agree. There is no real way to blame you for this. You merely recorded the information. You told someone else to update the girl. Another lady talked to the mom. And the director found the discrepency in the banning and the crime. You? You just wrote it down and explained what you'd learned second-hand to your boss. I really don't see how you could get in trouble for it. And if you do, fight it.
*nodnod* Exactly. Don't worry so much about it, Kim-chi. As they said, you only wrote it down, but didn't have any involvement in the issues taking place, the most they can gripe about is a typo, ne? ^_^V
Yeah. And besides, it's a Thursday. No One gets a hang of Thursdays. Prophetic visions of doom usually happened on Thursdays... and I'll stop before I get flogged for being too silly.
