I lost my own grandmother four years ago, and know exactly what you must be going through. She held on just long enough to see my son's Confirmation -- the one event she'd doubted she'd see for a couple of years. She barely made it -- she died a day short of two months afterwards.

Strangely enough, the one picture we took of Gerrit with the family on his Big Day turned out to be the very LAST picture taken of both her and my father-in-law, who suffered a series of strokes shortly before my grandmother's death. He held on for three more years, but that picture now holds great poignancy ...

Try to spend as much time with her as you can; if she's still a little aware, she'll take whatever small kindness you can give her along on that final journey. Be strong now; there'll be time enough for whatever regrets you might have and to mourn when she's gone.
