This is that "10 things I've done that you might not have done" meme that's been circulating around LJ. I can't remember who on my friends list I last saw post it, so I'll just say I took it from everyone on my f-list who posted it.

1. Accidentally set my hair on fire during a church service.
2. Met Freddie Lee Jones III (author of Bittersweet and A Man Finds His Way).
3. In four and a half years of college had nearly twice that many roommates.
4. Written Brian Henson and got a response (okay, it was a form letter but still...).
5. Marched as part of a marching band in front of the Main Street Electrical Parade (which owns the Spectromagic parade, IMHO) down at Walt Disney World.
6. Succumbed to motion sickness on the bus on the way down to Florida on the band trip in which item #5 was part.
7. Won $15 in a short spooky stories contest for the county paper when I was in fifth grade.
8. Seen Victor Borge in concert.
9. Been in a high school homecoming parade in the pouring rain (we woodwinds couldn't play, but we sure as hell were gonna show our support!)
10. Visited South Dakota the week before Sturgis Bike Week (it might as well have been a two-week event, for all the motorcycles we saw).

ER: This episode reaffirmed my Neela/Gallant shippiness. I liked the sequencing of the scenes, how they had situations in both County and Iraq mirroring each other or flow into one another. I loved Neela translating Pratt's "He still owes me a rematch" to "Pratt misses you" in her letter ('cause you know it's what he meant!). And I think my family watches those reruns of M*A*S*H too much; Mom started humming "Suicide is Painless" during the episode's intro at the scenes with the helicopters.

CSI: Not as weird as last week's ep, thank the Lord, but enough to merit an eyebrow raise or two from Yours Truly. Mom swore that they'd use the plotline for the homicide Grissom, Sara and Greg were working before. She also thought that they were going too far with the gross-out factor (the second DB with its face blown off, decomposition of the body in triple-time) and started going into a rant about how that stuff desentitizes people to violence and death and it's why kids do stuff like shoot up schools. I was tempted to tell her to write CBS a letter, but all I said was "If you don't like it, leave." She didn't. But anyway, back on topic...I'm liking Greg more and more as a CSI. He did seem to get the short end of the stick this ep, though - first, the vic wasn't a hooker like he'd hoped and second, Sara and Grissom almost forget he's there while using him in their experiment with the dummy and the weights.

EM:HE How'd They Do That: Okay, I know it's a few days too late. This episode made me glad that television technology hasn't progressed to the point where we have "Smell-O-Vision". It was interesting to get to see Ty's shop and (kinda-sorta) meet a few of his friends. I think I understand why Ty chose Paul to help with the secret room and not, say, Michael. For one thing, Paul is a carpenter and woodworker himself and he could/would help with a lot of the furniture that was being made for that room. Secondly, Paul's not as...exciteable as Michael is; I think Paul would probably keep the secret better. And while I'm on the topic of Ty...I was right; he did drive everyone at that hospital nuts. I hope that whoever smuggled the bullhorn in to him got a stern lecture. And how cool was it that Sweet Alice flew down to see him? I thought that was so cool. I could tell that Ty was moved by what she did and what she said to him. Glad I taped this; it's gonna have to hold me over until week after next. That's the one thing I don't like about the Oscar's: no Home Edition next Sunday.

Sent off my payment to renew both my paid LJ account and my extra userpics today. Hopefully it'll get there before my paid account's up, but I think I'm gonna be out 40 userpics before the check gets there and clears. So I've been whittling down (or trying to whittle down) my userpics so that I have what I want if I do get trimmed down to 10.

I've also realized, not for the first time, that I'm going to have to be stricter on my budget. With my monthly student loan payments, the health insurance I'm *supposed* to be helping to make payments on, plus all the spending I'm prone to do, I'm surprised my balance isn't lower than it presently is. One thing that's going to help, I hope, is to limit myself to one Internet expense a month, which this month would be LJ. Hopefully this won't be too hard, considering my only other online "expense" is E-bay, which I haven't bought anything off of since early fall. Now if only my real-life spending was as easy to control...

And finally I've revisted another part of my childhood, as evidenced by my new LJ icon. For those who don't know, that's Howler from the Pound Puppies as depicted in the movie Legend of Big Paw. I got back into that fandom after browing the memories at [livejournal.com profile] cap_it and seeing that someone had posted screencaps of the first hour or so of the movie. So now I want to see it again, but I'm a leetle too self-concious to find and rent it at the local video store. My only other options are trying to get it through interlibrary loan or getting it off of E-bay. We'll try interlibrary loan first...

And is it weird that I was getting Howler/Bright Eyes vibes just from looking at the screencaps alone?

I can sympathize, about problems balancing you're money. ^_^;;

As for the renting, why be self-conscious? ^_^ They act weird about you wanting to see it, just ignore them. Heck, I rented some free kids movies *cartoons, forget which old school goodness they were* and some porn in the same go. The girl was more then a little surprised, but at least made a joke that wasn't insulting. "So those are to counter the naughty part of renting these?" ^_^ so if can't buy right away, just go rent and enjoy yourself!

Good luck finding it then. Oh, and I sent you "The Doomsday Sanction" through You Send It. Did you get it? I just want to be sure it worked. My first times working with things usually don't turn out that well.

Heheh See, that's a good reason to use that over the rental. ^_^V

Gah, if you figure out how to get that trnasfer to work, unless you were both on, let me know... ^_^;; I still need to see last weeks TT and JLU too.
