Just finished watching the Tonys...
Just a few notes:
Congrats to Idina Menzel for getting Best Actress in a Musical for Wicked. You rocked as Maureen in RENT, and you rock now as Elphaba.
Also congrats to Phylisha Raschad for winning Best Leading Actress in a Play for Raisin in the Sun. That was kind of weird, since I'm always going to see her as Claire Huxtable.
Line of the night goes to Sarah Jessica Parker for "Jealous?" after Nathan Lane commented on her impromptu dance number with Hugh Jackman during his number. Coming in a close second was Rod (from Avenue Q) flirting with Hugh Jackman.
Congratulations to Avenue Q for winning Best Musical! Whoo-hoo! I know there's probably a celebration going on over at the Muppet theatre right now...
And finally, if Jekyll & Hyde is ever revived and brought back to Broadway, if casting can't get their hands on Robert Cuciolli, then they must get Hugh Jackman to play Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. That's all I have to say on that subject.
