Welcome back! And yeah, definitely sympathizing on the whole "flavor of the week" thing. It's why half the time, I just have Rose send somebody the lightpost data and leave it at that. Even the FAQ Squad's gotten superfluous now, and the characters have quit asking so many questions when they get there.
