Memo to the local school district superintendent:

For God's sake, just close the school down for tomorrow! Practically 3/4 of the area schools have already closed because of the cold. I don't know if you're a mother or not, but would YOU want YOUR kids venturing out in -1(F) degree weather, with a wind chill of -30(F)?

I know I sure as hell wouldn't!

So just, please, close the friggin' school. We've already got one snow day to make up at the end of the year; a second isn't going to make much of a difference.




P.S. - I shall refrain from commenting on the Super Bowl.

Ugh... sounds like a redo of what we had about 3 weeks ago... sleet, freezing rain, bad driving conditions. Except it was about 99% of the districts. What made it worse was that the local tv station announced the district was closed - then a few minutes later there was a "retraction". I wound up taking a personal day, because our street (we live on a 1 block long side street off a side street) was a sheet of ice.
