Okay, so here's the answers to all the quotes that no one was able to get from last night's meme.
4. Man in the Iron Mask. Athos, Porthos, Aramis and d'Artagnan are making one last charge against the King's Musketeers, armed only with their swords against the other Musketeers' guns. The exchange is between King Louis XIV and the young lieutenant Andre. Andre is obviously stunned at the courage of these four men, one of whom is his own captain and idol, while Louis is just pissed off.
5. The Secret of NIMH. This was the message Jonathan Brisby had engraved on the back of the amulet for his wife, Mrs. Brisby. It's essentially the theme of the entire movie - the scientists provided the key to unlocking the higher intelligence in the rats of NIMH, and many events were the key to opening the door to a well of courage that Mrs. Brisby didn't know she had.
8. The Color Purple. I loved the scene this quote came from, the dinner party where Celie finally got up the courage to leave her husband and go away with Shug. And damn if she wasn't right - everything went to pot around that house after she left.
Life-wise, I'm beginning to doubt that Grandma will ever be coming home from the nursing home. She has her lucid days and her days when she's just totally confused. According to Mom she was nothing like this at Van Metre after her surgery. And the doctor at the nursing home (who, IMHO, is much better than Grandma's regular doctor who is probably about ready to retire anyway) said that she was on all the medications she's supposed to be on. So we don't know what's going on. I've only visited her twice over there, although Mom's asked if I wanted to go on a few other occasions.
It's not that I don't want to see her; I'm just not used to the idea of Grandma being at the nursing home. With my two great-grandmas it was different; mostly what I remember about them was going to visit them in the nursing home. But with Grandma I so wish that this was just a temporary situation, even though it probably isn't going to be.
